ABOUT ME
Hey outside world. About Me hey? Well, the short version. Grew up in the middle of know where in Australia. Started playing guitar at age 9. Moved to Sydney at age 20. Freelanced playing in covers bands, grunge bands, country bands, funk bands and late night jazz gigs. And pent a lot of time in studios. One day I woke up and headed overseas. Since then I have had a Top 40 with my Pop band Standing on Shoulders. I have released my debut guitar CD called "The Interview" recorded with Mike Clark (Drummer with Herbie Hancock's Headhunters) and Eric Udel (The Blues Brothers/Ray Charles) and Charles Fambrough (McCoy Tyner, Art Blakey) on bass in New York. In 2008 , I toured Australia as Marc Mittag and The Headhnters with Mike Clark, Bill Summers and Jerry Z, playing my composititions and some Headhunter's Classics like Watermelon Man and Chameleon and Sly. I also compose and produce music for film and TV (mostly animated series). I have lectured in a few institutes all over the world and love sharing what I have learned over the years. Music is about sharing and communicating. A great solo is very like a great conversation. You need to listen as much as speak, and you need to bring your message across in a language appropriate for whom you are speaking to. I have many more big plans for the next few years including some tours in the US, Europe and Japan with some of my all time heroes (including Mike Clark from The Headhunters). So thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the music and guitar lessons and videos, and pics and friendship. Play On
