Back when my wife and I were recording Winter in December of 2005, our recording engineer Bond said the slip jig "Fig for a Kiss" sounded like soundtrack music.

OK - I'll bite.  Have a listen on my page and let me know what you would film over this "soundtrack."  Let's see if we can get the script for an amusing 3.5 minute movie.

Now that's a much better one, I believe, not as depressed and boring as a strike and stuff. The tune is not in the least depressing, so the pics should reflect that. I guess I'm depressed by nature and can't see the light for all the trees...

Here's my take...

The tune is playing.

A spry, dark-haired and darkly dressed lass is dancing the traditional slip jig steps to it in a pub.  A nice looking young man begins to circle her, undressing her with his eyes while he peels a fig.  The young lady snatches the fig from his hands and devours it in a single gulp.  Before the young man can react, the lass gives him a deep kiss.  The corwd applauds.  The young man looks abashed - he's the recipient of the seeds as the dancer, smiling, takes a bow.

Ok, I loved the imagery from first time I heard it. I see a father walking down the streets of Kilkenny with his son (about 7-8 years old). The father holds the son's hand, a bit nervous, the son's going off to some relative, the times are hard, and the boy needs to go to a calm place. There are worries in the air, a factory's layin'   off workers, there are people gathering, discussing the situation, newspaper headlines flashin' by, a goodbye at the trainstation, the train leaves and the father looks after it, looks down, kicks some pebbles, turns and walks away.

Silly, I don't know, that's the pictures I get from it anyway.

Peace
