One Song

Two Artists

One dream.

___________________________

One screen

Two performances

Two eyes stare at each performance

Two pianos...two distinct sounds

Two drums...one beat...two ways to get to that one beat.

One difference…

One with words

One without

___________________________

The one without words...

One saxophonist…improvisation beauty

One trumpeter…improvisation royalty

Plenty of twists and turns…

Pianist #1…smooth

Drummer #1…full of rhythm

One smile

Lots of clapping

One soul...extremely moved.

___________________________

The One with words…

One introduction

One entrance

One soft voice from a vocal genius.

Two eyes focused on that one vocal genius

Plenty of thoughts, but

One curiosity...

His words?

One surprise

Plenty of words to mimic that one saxophone and one trumpet.

Amazingly done by that one vocal genius.

Pianist #2...inspiration to me

Drummer #2...improvisational beauty

One bassist...rhythm with that vocal genius.

The Same two eyes focused on that one screen

Watching the same vocal genius

Give this song beauty in a haunting way.

Lots of clapping

One smile.

Same soul...extremely moved

___________________________

One song

Two musical geniuses...

Haunting one soul....

Mine.

I Stand Alone
By: Audrey Clark
Written: October 17th, 2009

Illusions of love have filtered my brain
I stand alone, imagining a place
where I would rather be. A time in space
where love is no illusion and one's train

of though is more than just a bored refrain.
I stand alone, my heart as torn as cases
of littered paper in the streets replaced
without a care. I wish my dad could strain

my tears and fill them with some hope...but he
can't. Reaching out is not my strong suit. Fear
at times will strip me of my happiness
but I continue moving on. For me
my calmness keeps me sane. I stand here
thought sad I know my soul has loveliness

to give to me, and that is all that I can ask for.

Audrey: The Quiet Butterfly
By: Audrey Clark
Written: September 17, 2009

Throughout it all, my heart and soul survived.

I sit along the shore observing waves
collapse in front of me. I hear a sound
that fills my soul with calmness all around.
My angels join me as I think about
the happenings within my life…events
transferring me from shyness…even for
a moment. Meetings taking place, the prose
I write for those I’ve seen and people com-
ing to experience a show with songs
whose words inspire creativeness in all
of us.

The saxophone subsides the stress and makes
me think about the weeks I went thru…All
the people that I got to meet and talk
to…all the laughter, all the thought, the fear
I had within my psyche, all the hugs
I got, the pictures, autographs…the knowledge I
obtained from my two inspirational
musicians and hopefully friends…

I think about the transformation I’ve
experienced and feel like I’m the kind,
soft, tender butterfly whose wings are filled
with color, sweetness and a tenderness
I hope has shone thru all that I have met.

Spencer Day-Voice of Velvet
Posted August 4, 2009 by Audrey

This poem I wrote about my experience seeing and meeting Spencer Day.

Spencer Day: Voice of Velvet

By: Audrey Clark

Written: August 4, 2009

His voice enticed me. His words of hope

and love removed my pain like velvet rain

from up above. Alluring smoothness he

displayed with each song adding soul to cap-

ture my heartstrings. His words flowed down the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />wa-

terfall of love into a pond of silk.

My eyes observed him as he played and sang…

Amazing talent he has. Meeting him

was scary at first, but his kindness made

this shy one feel at ease with him. He

will always hold a special place within

my soul for his compassion and his gift

of song.

Rhythm and passion

rolled into one. Energy

flows from his soul to his bass.

Beautiful spirit this bassist

possesses. Passionate

with every song, energetic

with every note, feeling his energy

flow into the crowd, bassist

of passion…

A humble, sweet and passionate man with love and energy for his craft….

The bass guitar
